Description

Rhododendron pocophorum ‘Cecil Nice’ KW#8289 A very rarely offered selection of a rare species. This is one of the giants of subsection Neriiflora (although our largest is only around five feet in height). A fantastic foliage plant – the deeply veined, dark glossy green leaves have a thick orange-brown indumentum beneath. Deep red, bell-shaped flowers in early spring on this 1971 AM form. Very beautiful and very slow growing – one of the classic “collector’s plants”. Requires excellent drainage in a bright but not hot position. (+5\R2\3) RSBG#1975/054
