Description

Rhododendron occidentale SM#502 An always ornamental deciduous azalea native to the west coast of the USA. This variable species has large showy fragrant flowers in early summer. The color ranges from white to flushed pink, yellow or orange, often with more than one color present. Bright fall foliage color. Best in sun in the Pacific NW. This selection from Smith and Mossman is later blooming than most, with some red and/or picotee in the flower. Collected by them in Humboldt Co., CA. (-5R14) RSBG#1977/388
