Description

Rhododendron lanigerum The flowers of this beautiful species emerge from the most amazing-looking large buds in early spring. The fuzzy overlapping scales of the floral buds are reminiscent of a small pineapple and provide a great show as they develop into a large rounded inflorescence of flowers (early spring) that range in color from pink to red or crimson with darker nectar pouches. These are grown from hand-pollinated seed produced here at the RSBG. (0\R1\4) RSBG
