Description
Rhododendron cinnabarinum ssp. xanthocodon (Concatenans Group) ‘Copper’ LS&T#6560 Similar to ssp. cinnabarinum but with shorter, more bell-shaped flowers and broader leaves with scales on the upper surface. The flowers of ssp. xanthocodon range in color from apricot, orange, vermilion and yellow, to red-purple or plum-purple and appear in mid- to late spring. Plants formerly known as concatenans are usually lower-growing and more compact than other forms of cinnabarinum. The flowers on this Award of Merit selection are coral-colored and suffused with orange and red. Best in light shade. (0R13) RSBG#1992/016
