Description
Magnolia (Michelia) Inspiration This is a relatively new selection resulting from the crossing of Magnolia laevifolia – one of the hardiest and most garden-worthy of the Chinese native evergreen magnolias formerly classified in the genus Michelia – with the well-known and stunning large-flowered Himalayan species M. doltsopa. This has small leaves of glossy green and masses of intensely fragrant white flowers in mid-spring with a dense and compact but very upright growth habit. Easily grown in containers in smaller gardens. A year-round beauty, best in sun or light shade. (+5?) RSBG
