Description
Rhododendron ___ cinnabarinum ssp. xanthocodon (Concatenans Group) Similar to ssp. cinnabarinum but with shorter, more bell-shaped flowers and broader leaves with scales on the upper surface. The flowers of ssp. xanthocodon range in color from apricot, orange, vermilion and yellow, to red-purple or plum-purple and appear in mid- to late spring. Plants formerly known as concatenans are usually lower-growing and more compact than other forms of cinnabarinum. These are grown from hand-pollinated seed produced here in the garden from the form known as “L&S pink concatenans”. Glaucous blue-green leaves. ((0R14) RSBG#264sd2010 $32.00
