Description
Rhododendron ___ luteiflorum KW#21556 A dwarf mounding species with smooth and peeling reddish brown bark. The fragrant foliage is dark shiny green above, glaucous white beneath. Bell-shaped pale to deep yellow flowers in early spring. This is a choice species for the woodland garden, very similar to the more familiar glaucophyllum and formerly considered a variety of that pinkish-purple-flowered species. Best with excellent drainage and light shade. A personal favorite, this is a clone from Glendoick which Peter Cox considered the “best and hardiest clone”.
