The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden, a not-for-profit 22-acre woodland garden, is committed to being an inclusive and welcoming space for the community by offering a range of low and no-cost admissions opportunities throughout the year.
The RSBG relies heavily on plant sales, admission fees, donations, membership dues and volunteers to keep the garden thriving and accessible for everyone. With this in mind, we will be increasing our prices by only $2 starting on January 1, 2024. This will enable us to continue to offer an award-winning and world-class experience for all our visitors, while continuing to keep the garden accessible for all.
The RSBG has not updated its pricing in over 13 years, and even with a rate increase, admission fees are still much lower compared to other gardens of similar size and features.
The garden is free and open to the public for Fall Foliage Festival (held in October) and is actively partnering with local government leaders to offer additional free community days.
The RSBG will continue to offer the same low and no-cost admission opportunities below:
• Active or retired military service member with ID
• Free admission for ages 12 and under
• Discounted admission for educators for guided or self-guided group visits
• Tacoma Public Libraries Free Pass Program
• King County Library System Museum and Park Pass Program
• American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP)
