Description
Rhododendron hylaeum JN#12135 This is a rarely grown and even more rarely offered species closely related to hookeri and faucium. Tubular bell-shaped pink flowers in early spring. The most outstanding feature of this species is the remarkable bark, smooth, liquid-brown with no flaking or peeling - from the smallest twig to the base of the sinuous trunk. These are grown from seed collected in the wild. Best in mild coastal gardens or similar situations. (+5\R1\4) RSBG#148sd2013
