Storytime in the Garden

Wednesdays at 10:30 AM | Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden
Join us for Storytime in the Garden, a weekly nature-focused program for preschool-aged
children and their caregivers at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden.
Each 30-minute session combines an engaging children’s book with songs, movement, and
a simple nature activity or exploration. Children and caregivers are encouraged to connect
the stories they hear with the plants, natural surroundings, and discoveries throughout the
Garden.

Read it. Explore it. Discover it.
Storytime is designed for preschool-aged children, approximately ages 2–5, accompanied
by a parent or caregiver. Children must remain with an adult throughout the program.
Storytime is not a drop-off program.

When and Where
Storytime takes place every Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Garden Gazebo. In cold or rainy
weather, the program moves indoors to the Rutherford Conservatory. Both locations are
accessible via the ADA path.
There is no Storytime during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s week.

Admission and Registration
Storytime is always free for attending families. No registration is required. Families are
welcome to drop in and participate. After Storytime, families are encouraged to continue
exploring the Garden together through observation, discovery, and play.
