Description
___ Pachyphragma macrophylla Our first offering of this tough and easy woodland wildflower. This deciduous to semi-evergreen groundcover will spread slowly by seed (if more than one clone is present) to form a non-invasive and very attractive perennial groundcover. The rounded leaves are in bunches with scalloped margins and the bright white flowers appear in masses in mid-spring. One of the most asked about plants in the garden when it’s in flower. Tolerant of a wide variety of conditions but especially useful for dry and shady portions of the garden such as under large conifers and maples. Native to beech forests in the Caucasus Mts.
