Description

___ Stewartia malacodendron One of the only two species of Stewartia native to North America. The “Silky Camellia” is a rarely cultivated, multi-stemmed small deciduous tree native to shaded bluffs and ravines in the southeastern USA. Uncommon in the wild. This species has large white flowers in late spring, these offset with a boss of bluish stamens – quite stunning. Best in light shade. Rarely offered, these are grown from seed sent to us by our good friend Peter Norris. The seed was collected wild in northern Georgia. (-10) RSBG $39.00
