Description

Rhododendron championae Evergreen shrubs or small trees with stiff, bristly branches. The leaves are covered with bristles, this is especially evident on the margins and petioles. The foliage is quite striking and cannot be mistaken for any other species. The large openly funnel-shaped flowers are white to pale pink with yellow spots and a slight fragrance.
