Description
Rhododendron sanguineum/dichroanthum/citriniflorum complex DGEY#256 Seedlings from a region rich in closely related members of subsection Neriiflora. These range in appearance from among the three species listed (which should be lumped into one species anyway?). Waxy red to orange or yellow, bell-shaped flowers in mid-spring on these compact growing evergreen shrubs. Shiny foliage with a thin indumentum on the lower surface of the leaves. Requires excellent drainage and some shade during the hottest part of the day. From seed collected in the wild. (-5R23) RSBG#345sd2001
