Description

Rhododendron cinnabarinum ssp. xanthocodon (Concatenans Group) Similar to ssp. cinnabarinum but with shorter, more bell-shaped flowers and broader leaves with scales on the upper surface. The flowers of ssp. xanthocodon range in color from apricot, orange, vermilion and yellow, to red-purple or plum-purple and appear in mid- to late spring. Plants formerly known as concatenans are usually lower-growing and more compact. Intensely silver-blue foliage with apricot flowers and a mounding compact habit on this selection. Our best form for foliage color. Best in light shade. (0R13) RSBG#1970/323
