Description
Rhododendron keiskei This is one of the hardiest members of Subsection Triflora and one of the few yellow-flowered species in that group. Quite variable in the wild and most forms will succeed in suitable conditions even on the east coast of the USA. These are grown from seed collected wild at 3,280 ft. (1000m) on Mt. Tenguiwa, W. Gunma, Japan. These are not going to be the prostrate and mounded 'Yaku Fairy' type but should still be relatively compact. A nice, smaller-growing species for sun or light shade, great with augustinii and blooming at the same time. (-10\R1\2?) RSBG#114sd2010
