Description
Rhododendron pachytrichum JN# Similar to its close relative strigillosum but with shaggy vs. bristly hairs and pink to white flowers with purple nectar pouches. Forms an upright shrub with flowers in early spring. These are grown from seed collected in the wild in a newly explored region. I have seen this species growing wild in the same region and can attest to the beautiful new growth and distinctively hairy young stems. Best in light shade. (-5\R1\5) RSBG#119sd2009
