  southern Japan and home to Rhododendron degronianum ssp. yakushimanum
  or “yaks”\, in the spring of 2024. All-day trekking was rewarded by t
 he yaks in full bloom at 6\,000 feet. The transition of R. degronianum
  with elevation gain from v. intermedium to ssp. yakushimanum was clea
 rly seen. She will introduce you to the beauty of Yakushima and its ma
 jestic nature through a photographic tour.\n\n                      At
