The mystical Himalayan blue poppy\, Me conopsis\, will grace us with its ethereal beauty once again at the Rh ododendron Species Botanical Garden. Come celebrate these fabulous flo wers Saturday\, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and enjoy a feast for yo ur eyes. Walk through a meadow glowing with blooming blue poppies or s troll along the ADA accessible path through the blue poppy glade. The RSBG nursery will be stocked with a stunning selection of plants for s ale\, including Meconopsis (blue poppies).

\nHannah Nicholson: Ceramics inspir ed by the beauty and magic of Western Washington. Delicately handcraft ed cups\, bowls\, mugs\, travel tumblers\, spoon rests\, planters\, an d more. Each piece is 100% unique\, and made by hand in Gig Harbor\, W ashington.
\nJody Deam: Five years ago\, Jody came across plaster casting flowers as a craft and fell in love with this unique way of preserving plants from the garden\, nature walks and other found objects. Her bo tanical tiles are handmade by pressing fresh and sometimes dried flowe rs into clay and pouring a plaster casting of the flowers. She uses fl owers and plants from her garden and walks around the neighborhood. Jo dy also gets inspiration from the produce isle in the local grocery st ore\, veggie garden or nearby nurseries and farms. Jody also teaches c lasses.
\nOut er Rim Art: Kristy loves coffee. She loves it so much tha t one day in 2016 while working at a coffee shop\, she decided to try and paint with it! Since then\, she’\;s been creating unique coff ee paintings inspired by literature\, pop culture\, nature\, and The G reat Pacific Northwest. She loves to use coffee from local roasters\, and experiment with technique. Kristy lives in Tacoma with her husband and two cats.
\nSaze Glass: Sue and Zeke are partners in life and glass who love to share their creations through Saze Glass. Whether ma king large scale home decor in the hot shop or objects for everyday us e\, they like to capture the shiny and refractive essence of glass. Th ey use precious metal fume\, opals\, and special colors in their mugs\ , jewelry\, and sculpture.

17\;re looking for friendly\, plant loving people to volunteer in the
Visitor Center for an hour to help hand out maps\, tally plants\, and
general visitor direction and guidance. We have several slots availabl
e. The Visitor Center is open from 10 am-4 pm and we’\;re hoping
to fill every hour with a knowledgeable and friendly plant person to h
elp ensure visitors have an amazing experience at the garden. Voluntee
rs will receive a free day pass to attend Blue Poppy Day (which they c
an participate in before and/or after their shift in the Visitor Cente
r). Volunteers must commit to coming to the garden for orientation the
morning of event day between 8-9 AM or any time between now and event
day.
