Steve will take you to the mountains of south Y unnan and adjacent Guangxi with images and details about the plants se en during his fall 2019 expedition. This trip is another in a series d esigned to explore the regions away from the main center of distributi on of the genus Rhododendron in an effort to fill in the gaps in our k nowledge and to introduce new taxa into cultivation.\nHighlights inclu de the first botanical exploration of a rhododendron-covered mountain on the Vietnam border\, as well as several days in some of the finest remaining old-growth forests in China. Steve will also discuss and ill ustrate new findings and theories about subsection Fortunea\, includin g several new\, enigmatic\, and even unknown species and their relatio nship to each other.\nAs always\, this will be an entertaining and edu cational lecture and discussion with beautiful images from some of the most remote and least explored regions of China. The talk will be fol lowed by a moderated Q&A.\nHow to Join the Meeting:\n\n\n Once you re gister for the event\, you will receive a basic confirmation email.\n Closer to the date of the lecture\, you will receive an email from RS BG staff with a link to the scheduled lecture and further instruction. \n Please note that you do not need a Zoom account to attend the lect ure.  However\, you will be required to download Zoom software on your device. There are two ways to do this:\n\n Visit Zoom.us and find th e “RESOURCES” drop down menu at the very top of the webpage. Hover you r mouse over the arrow next to “RESOURCES” and select “Download Zoom C lient” from the drop down menu.  On this page\, select the first downl oad button labeled “Zoom Client for Meetings.”\n\n\n\n-OR-\n\n\n \n\n Click on the lecture link\, which will be sent to you via email.  Th e link will prompt you to download the software.\n\n\n You do not nee d a webcam or a microphone to participate\, however\, you will need a device with speakers to hear the lecture.\n All Zoom registrants will be muted during the lecture.  We will take questions via text and ans wer them in a Q&A session at the end of the talk.\n\nIf you are unable to join us at the scheduled time of the talk\, no worries!
